Pulau Kukup, also named Kukup Island, is an internationally recognized RAMSAR site (Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance) under the jurisdiction of Johor National Parks Corporation. The uniqueness of this island is the mangrove forest on an island with no human inhabitation!
By accessing the site with a boat, you can see the tree roots clearly during low tide!
Special thanks to several key persons. From left to right. Postdoc researcher from this lab Lee Ying Ping (LYP), forest ranger Mrs. Iffa Ismail and LYP personal assistant Mrs. Hor Chu Hong.
